A little about myself
My name is Ethan Anderson and I’m passionate about building and tinkering. Whether it's stories or design, I’m constantly learning new ways to expand my breadth of knowledge to provide better experiences for people to enjoy my work.

I’m a self taught designer and I've learned many processes, concepts, and theories for UX/UI design through my best friends: Udemy and YouTube. I've always had the keen ability to learn well through untraditional means. Before working as a freelance designer, I completed community college and then graduated from UCLA with honors. Before that, I worked my way up from construction laborer to apprentice for a private contractor. Now, I'm excited for this next career pivot.

I solve problems, think big, and work through adversity.

My values
Hard work pays...
Life is iterating. Try this, doesn’t work. Maybe this? Much better. That has been my experience jumping out of comfort zone after comfort zone. I believe sometimes taking the harder route of understanding why something works or doesn’t work is more rewarding than having answers alone.
Learn new things...
I am a work in progress. To me, understanding our pain points so we can improve ourselves goes hand in hand with design philosophy. That's why in my spare time I enjoy watching video essays that analyze unfamiliar concepts in film, literature, or design; and why I highly value meeting with fellow designers or writers to workshop new ideas.
Embrace the difficulty...
There is a navy seal phrase that is something to the effect of, “embrace the difficulty.” That idea has always resonated with me. We all have responsibilities or demanding tasks we’d sometimes rather avoid. I believe these moments are like mini pop quizzes in real life, where sometimes the thing we want most is found by doing the things we don’t want to do.
